Kitchen Countertops Gone!
Justin and I started this kitchen project back in June. We had originally thought we would just paint our cuboards and it would be a simple project. We painted the cuboards black and realized that our green countertops didn't look so good against the black. Our next thought was that we'd buy a simple piece of new countertop from Menards and put it in ourselves. Well then we decided that our windows needed to be replaced above the counter and maybe we should replace those first so we didn't mess up any new countertop that we put in. In November in went two new windows.
Now tomorrow is the much awaited day for the granite to be put in, and then there are just a few steps left. We need to take off the rest of the tile backsplash, re-sheetrock the pieces of sheetrock around the new windows and where the backsplash will be removed, put on a new tile back splash, stain and install the new window trim and then finish painting. Maybe a year later and many more dollars than anticipated the project will finally be complete!
Here are some before pictures from before the countertop was removed and some pictures of after we removed the countertop tonight. I will post finished pics in the next couple of days!
