New Windows, furnace and air...Oh my!
We've been trying to get some projects done before the baby comes. We knew that when there was snow coming in one of our windows last year that we couldn't baby them along anymore and we would have to get some new ones before next winter. We replaced 3 of the back windows. In 2008 we replaced the two kitchen windows, now we just have one more to replace, and we will have replaced all of the upstairs windows. That last window is quite large though, so hopefully we can get it to last a few more years. As always, whenever we do anything with the house it is always raining, so sure enough, Thursday when the windows were put in, it was pouring down rain. We did get the job done though and I think they look so much better.
It just so turns out, that the next day we had a new furnace and air conditioner put in. We didn't plan it this way, this is just the way it worked out. Both our furnace and air conditioner "worked," but we were noticing they didn't seem very efficient, and we were starting to have some problems with them. We decided to have these replaced before our furnace decided to go out on the coldest day of the year with a new baby at home. Hopefully they will both work more efficiently, and maybe even lower our bills?! I don't know how old the furnace was, but the air conditioner was original to the home and our house was built in 1972. Sorry, no pictures of the air and furnace, but here are some pictures of the windows, before and after. Even though it is not fun to unload a bunch of money on windows, a furnace and air conditioner, we are thankful for the blessing of a roof over our head and the money to be able to do these projects.
